Job Title: Flexographic Slitter Rewinder Operator (Number 1) Weekend Nights
Location: Wirral area (Merseyside)
Salary: 36,976 per annum (inclusive of weekend night shift allowance)
Hours: 6pm-6pm Friday & 7pm-7am Saturday and Sunday
About the Role
Were seeking an experienced Number 1 Slitter Rewinder Operator to join a leading flexible packaging manufacturer on the weekend night shift.
Youll be responsible for setting up, running, and maintaining wide web slitter rewinders including machines such as Comexi, Ashe, Universal or similar equipment ensuring output is delivered to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
This is a technical, hands-on role where youll take full ownership of your machine and lead production through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor wide web slitter rewinder presses (Comexi, Ashe, Universal, or equivalent)
Carry out reel slitting, rewinding, and roll inspection to precise customer and production specifications
Ensure consistent quality, correct tension, and defect-free output throughout the run
Complete accurate production records and follow company SOPs
Perform routine press maintenance and troubleshoot issues quickly to minimise downtime
Work with the finishing and flexo printing teams to ensure smooth workflow
Promote and uphold all Health & Safety and housekeeping standards on site
What Were Looking For
Proven experience as a Number 1 Slitter Rewinder Operator in packaging, print, or converting
Hands-on knowledge of Comexi, Ashe, Universal, or similar wide web machinery
Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail
A proactive, reliable operator with pride in delivering quality and efficiency
Comfortable working independently as part of a weekend night team
Flexible, safety-conscious, and solutions-focused approach
